Momcology has announced participation as a non-profit organizer for the September 13, 2018 Patient Focused Drug Development Workshop regarding chemotherapy induced hearing loss in the pediatric cancer patient population.
The FDA needs to hear what is important to patients, and this is an opportunity to advocate for our children by telling their stories and expressing the importance of improved drug protocols as well as drugs to protect our children from the late effects of their treatments, specifically in this instance, the development of drugs to help mitigate hearing loss. The meeting is intended to provide a platform for patient and patient family voices to be heard by the FDA and gives us the opportunity to help the FDA understand the lasting and deep physical, emotional and financial impacts chemotherapy induced hearing loss has on our children and our families.
We are in need of patient and family participation as panelists as well as audience members, and anticipate both will be given ample opportunity to engage with the FDA and drug developers and share their stories. If your child has suffered chemotherapy induced hearing loss, please join us at this important meeting. .
Registration is free and families attending with Momcology will receive a Momcology Welcome Kit as well as opportunities to connect with other families in attendance. Please be sure to indicate Momcology on your application in the field “Where did you learn of this event?”
